take your suggestions (we will go over them at the next meeting) on Oct 15th 7:00 City Hall

We need help at the Fall party and are planning now! Please email Stacy Creel to step up and help
*Dog deposits were a large concern, so please make sure you pick them up along the way of Fido.
* Another reminder is that boats and trailers should be behind the fence line or at the very least, the house line. There are numerous low cost storage options in town.

Lakewood Heights Improvement Association
Open Board Meeting # 10
June 10, 2013 - 7:00pm Reported by Nicole Zeringue
Board Member Attendance:
Greta Perry, Interim President
Blake Boudreaux, Vice President
Jennifer deGeneres, Interim Treasurer
Nicole Zeringue, Secretary
Bill Emory, Director
The meeting began at 7:05pm.
Mayor Donald J. Villere opened the meeting and greeted the neighbors of Lakewood Heights Subdivision.
Mayor Villere gave a brief introduction regarding the art on display in City Hall.
Mayor Villere stated the City of Mandeville has submitted their Capital Budget for review and will submit the Operations Budget by the end of June. Once both budgets are approved the active date will be September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014. The Mayor asked the residents of Lakewood Heights Subdivision if there were any capital improvements the subdivision may need to be included in the budget. No comments or suggestions were made by residents.
The Mayor was asked when completion of the road work on Hwy 190 will be completed. The Mayor stated March of 2014.
Jennifer deGeneres gave a brief summary of the Treasury Report. Jennifer is in the process of reconciliation of the accounts. She has not received all of the statements from the previous treasurer, but had a report for May 2013 statement.
Jennifer stated that thus far, her records indicate thirty-eight (38) houses have paid their dues so far this year. Jennifer will reconcile with Troy and have a full treasury report at the end of the month.
The Winn’s along with the Roy’s have been consulting with Diane on the front flower beds at the Leah Drive Entrance as well as the old closed entrance. Ken stated they planted new flowers and replaced the soil in the beds, as well as trimmed the bushes along the fence.
Ms. Diane suggested that the Board find in the budget to replace the retaining wall that was removed in front of the bed by the closed entrance. This will protect the plants in the bed as well as balance with the Leah Drive entrance.
Several residents asked the Board and the Mayor about the vacant lot in front by the main entrance to the subdivision on Nicholas Drive. Several residents feel this is an eye sore and needs to be better maintained. The State currently owns the property as uses it for staging equipment. The state may consider donating to the City once all construction on Hwy 190 is complete. Several residents expressed interest in cleaning the lot and making it more presentable.
The Board discussed having a progressive pool party. Volunteer homes to host their pool are needed. The Board will get more information and suggested dates and Ken will send out emails and post requests for host pools on Facebook. It was discussed to hold in mid to late August.
Resident Kevin Flocton asked the Board as well as the Mayor about becoming a Special Taxing District, in which the homeowner’s fee, ($25) could be added to the homeowner’s property tax to ensure payment. The Mayor stated he would consult with the City Attorney to get more information on the legalities.
Lakewood Heights Board Member Elections were held. Residents present at the meeting nominated and voted on the following Board positions and officers:
President – Greta Perry
Vice President – Stacy Creel
Treasurer – Jennifer deGeneres
Secretary – Nicole Zeringue
Director – Mike Smith
We also had volunteers for the “Welcoming Committee” they are David & Donelle Ruth and Ronnie & Jenny Couchis.
